Why it’s perfect: Teaches roasting balance.

Ingredients

  • 4–6 chicken thighs or drumsticks
  • Potatoes, carrots, onions
  • Oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder

Directions

  1. Oil oven lightly
  2. Brown chicken skin-side down (10 bottom)
  3. Add veggies, season generously
  4. Cover and roast with 8 bottom / 16 top for 45–60 minutes

Done when: Juices run clear; potatoes are fork-soft
