Why it’s perfect: Teaches baking heat, smells amazing, almost impossible to ruin.
Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 1 packet (2¼ tsp) yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tbsp oil
Directions
- Mix everything into a shaggy dough
- Knead briefly (or just mix well)
- Let rise 30–45 minutes (covered)
- Oil oven lightly, drop dough in
- Let rise again 15 minutes
- Bake with 8 coals bottom / 16 top for 30–35 minutes
Done when: Hollow sound when tapped, lightly browned top
