Beginner Camp Chili

Dutch Oven Cooking


Why it’s perfect: Teaches simmering without scorching.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cans beans (drained)
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • Chili seasoning packet

Directions

  1. Brown beef + onion (10 bottom)
  2. Add everything else
  3. Reduce to 6 bottom / 12 top
  4. Simmer 30–45 minutes, stirring occasionally

Note: Fine for short tomato cooks—just don’t leave it overnight.
