Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons of salt
- 2 cups of brown sugar
- 1 cube butter or butter substitute
- 4 cups of hot water
- 4 cups of cold water
- Yeast
- 17 cups white bread or all purpose flour
- Cinnamon Mixture:
- 4 cups sugar
- ½ cup cinnamon
Instructions
- Add together in large bowl 2 tablespoons of salt, 2 cups of brown sugar, 1 cube of butter or butter substitute.
- Pour 4 cups hot water over ingredients and let them dissolve.
- Add 4 cups of cold water
- Sprinkle yeast on top of water mixture and let activate/bubble (about 5 minutes)
- Add about 17 cups white bread or all purpose flour, stir together, knead and add more flour if dough is sticky.
- Cover and let rise – about 1 ½ hours.
- Punch down.
- Divide into 5 loaves and Roll out.
- Sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture as you fold the loaves together.
- Place into greased pans.
- Chop the top of the bread. Sprinkle cinnamon-sugar mixture on top and work in with fingers.
- Let rise for about 25-30 minutes.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
- Cinnamon Mixture:
- 4 cups sugar
- ½ cup cinnamon
- Use about ¾ cup mixture on each loaf. Let bread set in pans after it has baked for about 10 minutes. Remove from pans and let cool on a rack.
